Robert V. Myers, age 96, of Ames, Iowa passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2022. Robert, also known as "Sweet Ole Bob" was born on November 23, 1925, in Napier, IA to parents Wilford Myers and Ora Sylvia Eide.
From March 8, 1944, to April 30, 1946, he served in the US Army, in the European theater during World War 2. During his enlistment, Bob received 2 Battle Stars, the Battle of the Bulge and Ardenne Rhineland; a Purple Heart; a Bronze Star; a Combat Infantryman Badge; and a Presidential Unit Citation.
After serving in the US Army, Bob returned home and received his high school diploma from Ames High School in 1947. His hobbies included going for walks and listening to music, especially Big Band.
