Memories of Ade and Carol go back to the 1940’s I fist met Carol when she moved to Sheldon. She rented an apartment in our family home. Shortly thereafter I met Adrian as he was pursuing Carol. Dale and I shared many fun filled times with them during our dating years.
After we were married  and had families we shared  Sunday dinners and weekends in in Omaha together, what wonderful memories!
We never lost touch with each other, for which I am very thankful.
Ade was a hardworking, caring, generous and kind gentleman who will be greatly missed .

RIP  Adrian

We lived in Ames for 50 years and Adrian was our devoted and dependable house sitter.  He always had a key to our house on Dawes Drive.  Sometimes we'd get stuck out of town--delayed returning--and Adrian was just a phone call away.
What a great worker and friend!

Adrian and Carol were very warming friendly people as we joined GLC many years ago.  Adrian was always busy  and Carol and he were very faithful members even during the Pandemic Adrian could be seen being in church.   Also enjoyed the many e-mails shared with Carol and a very treasured bookmark of her making given to me before she passed away.  Blessed be Adrian’s  Memory his presence we will treasure. Adrian and Carol became integral members of the Gilbert Community as soon as they joined it in the 80's.  Adrian became recognized for his extraordinary work ethic  and abilities in every field -- you name it farming, yard work, handyman services, pet care.  He liked to keep busy. 
 In these later years when he had to slow down with the physical work, he filled his time with reading.  It became a friendly challenge among his friends to see who could supply enough books to Adrian to overwhelm him and get him to beg us to hold off with the donations.   None of us won that challenge!  Rest in Peace, Dear Friend 
  

Adrian was our elderly neighbor's lifeline for so many years - mowing her yard, setting her mousetraps, helping her stay in her home and maintain her independent lifestyle until she was 96. I'm sure it kept both his mind and body fit and provided him a sense of purpose.  Steve and I both enjoyed talking with him and hearing his words of advice, such as " a  hot toddy, Steve, should cure that cold." He was such a hardworking, kind, and pleasant person. What a wonderful role model for all of us. Our sympathy to his family,
