Service will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery December 22, 2018 at 3pm. Visitation will be held Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery December 21, 2018, from 6PM-8PM.
Vera was a dedicated, hard working woman to say the least, working in the restaurant industry nearly her whole life before finally retiring at the age of 82. She was a devoted mother who consistently put the needs of her eight children and family above her own. Vera was a devout Christian and her dream was to travel to Jerusalem and walk where Jesus walked.
Vera was born in Plant City Florida, but lived in Louisiana and California until she would finally call Texas her home. She loved to go to the beach, when she got a chance.
Vera is survived by her children; William Layton, Joanne Snyder, Shirley Copeland, Earl Tisdale, Donna Tarango, Rena May Gray, Brenda Thomas, 27 Grandchildren, several Great-Great grand children and her siblings; Samuel, Kenneth, Alice, Mary, and Linda.
Vera is preceded in death by her parents; James and Lucy Robbins, son; David Layton, 8 siblings, Great-Great Grandson Jackson Merrick, and Great Granddaughter Adalyn Overton.
