Thomas "Drew" Eldrew Edwards

Drew will lie in state for viewing and visitation on Tuesday, December 08, 2020 from 6pm to 7:30pm. A celebration of Drew’s 78 years will be held on Wednesday, December 09, 2020 at 2pm in the First Assembly of God located at 6101 S. Bell St with Brother Tom Shepherd and Pastor Billy Nickell officiating. Burial will be private.

Drew was born on October 5, 1942 in Wellington, Texas to Luther and Irene Edwards. He grew up in Amarillo, Texas and graduated from Amarillo High in 1962. He married Cathy Edwards in May of 1969. They had 44 years together at her passing in February 2014. In June 2016, he married Thena Wesley.

Drew retired from the Army National Guard as a Master Sergeant in April 2000. Then in October 2002 he retired from the United States Army. He played lots of softball that led him to be an umpire for the City of Amarillo Parks and Recreation. As well as coaching his 2 kids in softball, football, and basketball. When he became a Pa, he then became a huge supporter of all of his grandkids in every activity they were involved in.

Drew was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife, Cathy. He is survived by his daughter Kari Edwards, her son Cole Sieck and wife Marisa. His son Wes Edwards and wife Cary along with their 3 daughters; Macki, Brylee, and Brenna. His wife of the home Thena Edwards, her children Theron and Lance Wesley and their families. His brothers and their wives; Weldon and Pam of Amarillo, Levoy and Kathy, and Andell and Linda all of Albuquerque, NM. As well as numerous cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends.

Drew was the best dad, Pa, husband, son, and brother. He will be greatly missed by all of us. We love you to the moon and back.
