Steven was born on April 17, 1953 in Childress, Texas, to F.C. and Nina Jo Briley. After graduating from Childress High School, Steven moved to Canyon, TX and attended West Texas State University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science. He was incredibly proud to work for Pantex as a project manager for 25 years, and he excelled in his career before he retired in 2015.
Steven was a loving father to his two children, Season Craven and Lance Briley. He was the most gentle, kind, and loving parent. He carried that love over into his role as Grandpa to four grandchildren. He had a special talent for gathering family together, and his hospitality was unmatched. The family feasted and traveled well, thanks to Steven.
Steven loved books, and he spent his life collecting a beautiful library full of his favorites. He loved to travel and did so extensively. Some of his favorite destinations include New York City, San Francisco, Cancun, and Hawaii.
Steven’s greatest love of all was his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. His faith was strong and enduring, and it carried him through the joys and difficulties of life.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Season Craven and her husband, Ray Craven, his four grandchildren, Maddy Craven, Garrett Craven, Raychel Craven, and Torah Craven, his brother Ron Briley and his wife, Kathleen, along with other loving family members and friends.
Steven was preceded in death by his son, Lance Briley, and his parents, F.C. and Nina Jo Briley.
