Ruth Marie Everson Snow was born April 29, 1914, in Aberdeen, S.D. She graduated high school as salutatorian. After graduation, she soon married Earnest Snow. a 6-foot-tall native Texan, and she was proud to be a Texan for 79 years.
Ruth prided herself in her Christian faith and took every opportunity to profess her faith to her family, friends and all others who needed encouragement. She had a wonderful sense of humor and shared it willingly with everyone she met. She was always quick with kind words to all who needed a lift.
A wonderful cook, she defined comfort food and was always ready to prepare meals for her family. Mom was a warm, caring and accepting person and found good in everyone she met. Ruth Snow was a beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Earnest Snow; a son, Charles Henry Snow; two grandsons, William Shawn Snow and Jeremy Bryan Snow; a brother, Orville Everson; two sisters, Evelyn Schroepfer and Phyllis Davis; and four brothers-in-law, Jack Schroepfer, Ralph Davis, Wayne Morgan and Earl Sandquist.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Sauls; five sons, Donald E. Snow, Jerry W. Snow, David E. Snow, Warren D. Snow and Mark Snow; two sisters, Jean Everson Burns and husband George and Marilyn Everson Sandquist; a sister-in-law, Jen Everson; 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
