Ruby Mae “Ma” Norris, 92 of Amarillo passed away September 16, 2012. Services will be Friday, September 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Memories at Memorial Park Funeral Home, with Rev. Perry Hunsaker of St. Paul United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Ruby Mae was born August 2, 1920 to Jesse and Nellie Ingland in Beaver County near Forgan, Oklahoma. She married Keith Norris on May 29, 1939 in Liberal, Kansas. He preceded her in death on May 19, 2006. Ruby Mae was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed teaching sewing, cooking, needlework, and crafting skills to her family. One of her greatest joys was to attend the many activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Ruby Mae was preceded in death by her husband Keith, a son Larry Allen Norris, a grandson Steven Potter, a great-grandson Bryce Tennyson and 4 brothers and 6 sisters. Mrs. Ruby Mae Norris is survived by; four daughters, Susan Potter of Dallas, Barbara Freer of Rowlett, Marti Schmersey and husband John of Lubbock, and Linda Tennyson and husband Bobby of Amarillo; 10 grandchildren; Jerry Potter, Kim Crafton, Stephanie Ammons, Roy Freer III, Michael Tennyson, Julie Poe, Lori Berryman, Vance Tennyson, Mike Schmersey and Kelly Schmersey. 21 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. Two sisters, Darlene McCarter and husband Burt of Forgan Oklahoma, Pat Hershey and husband Dale of DeRitter Louisana. The family suggest memorials be sent to Odyssey Hospice, 7201 Evans, Amarillo, Texas.
