Ronnie Jewell 79, of Amarillo passed away June 22, 2023 in Amarillo. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 5-7 PM at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors. Funeral service will be at 10 AM on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with burial to follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Ronnie was born to William Raymond and Edith Pauline Combs Jewell in Perryton, Texas. He graduated from Boys Ranch. Ronnie was a hard working family man who loved his family, they were all very important to him. In his free time he enjoyed, fishing, playing horseshoes, watching any type of sports, but his favorite pastime was spent watching his grandchildren and all of their activities. His favorite football team was the Dallas Cowboys. He was there to help anyone and everyone in need. He will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know and love him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jeannie Jewell and a brother Jerry Jewell.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Karen Jewell; Ronda Smith and husband Charles; Melody Jewell, Mike Stumbo and wife Diane; Monte Stumbo and fiancé CJ; Brenda Witty and partner Tammy Bishop; Mitch Mathis and wife Megg; Michelle Tupin and Danny Mathis and wife Maggie. A sister Sherri Cruz and husband Henry along with 13 grandchildren;13 great grandchildren; his loving dog Rex and many loving nieces and nephews.
