Robert Morgan, 86 of Amarillo passed away January 5, 2013. Funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday January 9, 2013 at The Church at Quail Creek with Larry Starbuck and Dale Moreland officiating. The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm Tuesday January 8, 2013 at the funeral home. Private family entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Robert Morgan, 86 of Amarillo went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 5, 2013. Robert was born July 19, 1926 to Oral and Zella Duncan Morgan in Fairmont, WV. He joined the US Army in 1945 and served in WWII until 1947. He married Gay Potts on May 7, 1954. Until his retirement in 1989 he owned and operated several Mobil and Chevron Service Stations. He was a member for many years at The Church at Quail Creek and belonged to the Rainbow Class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oral Morgan and Zella Forsythe; step-father, Joe Bill Forsythe and four sisters. He is survived by his devoted wife and caregiver for 58 years, Gay Morgan; three children Debra Starbuck and husband Larry of Mustang, OK. Son; Oral Morgan and Janet Brown of Amarillo; daughter Terri Boles and husband Kyle of Amarillo sisters; Joy Powers of Las Cruces, NM, Mary Dickens of Belona, NY, brother; Glen Forsythe of Fayetteville, NC, eight grandchildren; Matrina Parker, Marissa Allen, Melanie Bittle, Marcie Knight, Robert Tyler Morgan, Emily Morgan, Luke Boles and Audrey Boles. Seven great grandchildren.
