Robbie was born December 17, 1924 in Memphis, Texas to Annie Lou and Norman Stanley Whitsell. Robbie met her future husband, Calvin Naylor in high school in Clarendon, Texas. They were married December 12, 1945. Robbie and Calvin celebrated almost 55 years together before his death on October 31, 2000. Robbie was a woman of action. She got up every day and “put on her face” and was ready to conquer her day. Early in their marriage she worked as a telephone operator, but her happiest work was taking care of her family. She and Calvin raised three sons. Robbie was a child of the depression and was very talented at stretching a dollar. She would sew clothes for herself as well as for Calvin and the boys. She enjoyed searching for bargains and she passed her love of a good deal to her sons. As a family they loved to camp and Robbie enjoyed her summers that she and Calvin spent as camp hosts in New Mexico. They belonged to an RV club and enjoyed their time spent camping and traveling with other members. Robbie loved sharing time with family and friends. She loved to go and she was always ready for the next adventure.
In addition to her parents, Robbie was predeceased by her husband Calvin, her siblings Albert, Dan, Dennis and Ruth. She is survived by her three sons, Mike Naylor and his wife Sherry of Amarillo; Carl Stanley Naylor and his wife Sara of Cedar Park, Texas and Bruce Naylor and his wife Joyce of Amarillo. She is also survived by grandchildren Cindy Prater and her husband Nathan of Georgetown, Texas; Tiffany Homan and her husband Stephen of Bedford, Texas; Matthew Naylor of Austin, Texas; Branden Naylor of Lubbock, Texas; and Brent Naylor and his wife Molly of Amarillo. Three great-grandchildren also survive her, Riley and Andrew Prater of Georgetown, Texas and Charlotte Naylor of Amarillo.
Robbie loved and was loved by her family and she loved the Lord. She was the life of our party. We will miss the love and laughter she provided every day. We will miss her but we know she is excited and ready for her next adventure.
