Rachel Lavera Eason was born on August 21, 1943 in Lamesa, Texas to Howard and Viola (Rushing) Eason. The family would relocate to Amarillo, Texas where she attended school and would graduate from Palo Duro High School.
She began work not long after graduation. Rachel took a job working in the Treasury Department of Hertz Rentals, where she would continue her career until retirement.
Rachel was an avid sports fan. She loved to watch football. Especially if her beloved Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys were playing. Rachel had many loves, but none more than her dogs.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Sybil McIlroy and Yvonne Eason. Those left to cherish her memories are her son Jeffery McCarty and wife Blasina, daughter Lisa Hicks, grandchildren Craig Warren and Blake Hicks; and great grandchildren Makenzee and Blake Hicks, and Chloe and Josie Hamberg. Rachel also leaves behind her brother Don Eason and wife Andrea, and her nephew Darren Eason.
