Pamela Lynn Lummus, 73, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Thursday, January 11, 2024 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel. The family will receive friends for a visitation from 5-7pm, Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Chapel.
Pam was born on August 20, 1950 to John Royce Rice and Katherine June Benton in Dimmitt, Texas. She grew up and lived in Hart, Borger, and Amarillo, Texas. Pam graduated from Tascosa High School in 1968 and went on to obtain her Bachelors in Education from West Texas A&M University in 1974 and later received her Master’s in Education from WT in 1979. Pam worked as a teacher for over 30 years, where she devoted her time teaching special education children. She retired from teaching in 2004. She married Rudolph Luginger in 1975 and together, they had two sons, Christian and Johana. Pam later married her husband, Jon Lummus in 1994 and together they have shared almost 30 years of marriage. After Pam’s sister passed away, she took in her two nephews, Johnathan Howe and Colin Howe and has always felt as if they were her boys. Pam had a great love for art and made beautiful pieces that are still hanging in her home today. She also loved music, her friends, and her family.
Pam was preceded in death by her parents and her sister.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jonathan Lummus; her sons, Christian Luginger, of Amarillo and Johana Luginger, of Oklahoma City, Johnathan Howe, of Springfield, Oregon, and Colin Howe, of Wills Point, Texas. Pam is also survived by several other extended family members and friends who will all miss her greatly.
