Jean was born on December 14, 1944 in Clayton, New Mexico to Kenneth and Norma May (Ellis) Brown. She attended school in Amistad, New Mexico where she was voted Most Beautiful by her senior class. Following graduation, she went on to Eastern New Mexico University.
Throughout the years, she held many different jobs. She took a flight attendant job even though she had never stepped foot on a plane before. She had a servant heart and loved to take care of people. Jean held many customer service jobs, including a bank teller and with Coca Cola where she greeted and served every customer with the sweetest smile on her face.
Jean adored the family life, even with the hardships that accompanied it. She was married to Joe Thompson for the better part of 38 years. Together they built a family based on love, compassion, and understanding. They raised two wonderful children and enjoyed their life together until his passing in November of 2015.
Jean will be remembered for always loving everyone. She did for others without expectation of anything in return. Her infectious smile that lit every room she walked into will always shine bright as she looks down from heaven upon us. She never met a stranger, and those who met her were all blessed for having her light in their life. Jean will be deeply missed.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Joe, parents Norma and Kenneth, sister Leila Lee, and brother Dave Brown. Those left to cherish her memories are her children Alicia Carter and husband Chris, Tate Thompson and wife Amber, and grandchildren Makayla, Kayden, Adam, Cameron, Cambry, Tatelyn, and Kaylee all of whom she cherished more than life; as well as man other loving family and cherished friends.
