Mike Hardy, 69, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, June 11, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Saturday, at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive visitors from 5-7pm, Friday, June 16, at Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mike was born on February 20, 1954 to Carl Hardy and Nina Smith, in Las Vegas, New Mexico. He was raised by his grandparents and grew up in Childress, Texas and graduated from Childress High School. He married the love of his life, Kim Seth, on February 23, 1997, and together they shared 23 wonderful years of marriage. Mike retired from BNSF Railway after 30 years. He loved trains and collected many of them throughout his life. He also collected Coca Cola products. Mike was a very handy and skilled master of his craft in woodworking. He loved making crosses, shelves, and cabinets. He also liked building trains and would gift them to his grandchildren. Mike also was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys. Even though he knew they sucked, they were still his team. Mike had the biggest heart and would give the shirt off of his back to anybody at all. He truly never met a stranger. He loved his children, grandchildren, and his two Chihuahuas, Panda and Pudge.
Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Kim Seth, in 2020.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, David Hardy and wife, Courtney, of Palm Coast, Florida; His daughter, Jennifer Seth and partner, Stephanie Longwell, of Amarillo; His mother-in-law, who loved him dearly, Johnna Wright; His grandchildren, Kiley, Cole, and Shea; and of course, his two dogs, Panda and Pudge.
