Marie Fennell, 80 of Amarillo passed away December 13, 2012. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Golden Plains Church of Christ with Sheldon Devries of Cross Pointe Church officiating by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home. Marie was born November 27, 1932 in Fargo and moved to Vernon with her family when she was about 13 years old. Her parents were Homer Andrew Chisholm and Claudia Lee Daniels Chisholm. Marie graduated from Vernon High School in 1950. She married Jack Henry Fennell on March 21, 1959 in Vernon. She was a devoted wife and mother to her four children, Rick, David, Toya and Tonya. She owned a Craft Store with her daughter, Toya and was a Master Crafter. She also was an expert seamstress, upholsterer, ceramist and cabinet maker. Marie loved children and doted on her grandchildren. She was a longtime member of the Golden Plains Church of Christ. Marie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack Fennell; her brothers, Willie and Howard and sister Lucille. Marie is survived by her sons, Dr. Rick Short and wife Dr. Paula Short of Kemah, Texas and David Short and wife Angie of Houston; daughters, Toya Shupp of Amarillo and Tonya Morehouse and husband Richard of Houston; brothers, James Chisholm, Richard Chisholm, Bob Chisholm and Lonnie Chisholm; sister, Linda Vanek; as well as by 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
