She was preceded in death by her parents, six sisters, two brothers, and husband, James Banks, of 59 years.
Born the youngest of nine children on July 17, 1942 to Clarence and Sadie Evans of Amarillo. She graduated from Tascosa High School in 1960. Lynda and James were married in 1963, and raised two children in Amarillo. She embraced being a mother, and often served as a driver, chaperone, classroom volunteer, sports supporter, Cub Scout and Brownie Scout aid, research assistant, keeper of schedules, and head cook. She was always available for her family, no matter the activity. She enjoyed traveling, and made the preparations for countless family vacations.
Lynda leaves behind two children, James Banks and wife Erica, of San Antonio, and Kelsie Banks, of Amarillo, four grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Lynda was a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was deeply loved, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
