Services will be at 2 p.m. today in First Family Church, 6101 S. Bell St., with the Rev. Max Beggs, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.
Caryl Welch was born Jan. 31, 1939, in Princeton, W.V. She taught Sunday School for many years and volunteered with Baptist Saint Anthony’s Hospice and was the founder and leader of OASIS Outreach and Women’s Ministry. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Welch.
Survivors include two daughters, Camie Johnson and husband Lance and Teai Day and husband Rick, all of Amarillo; her mother, Charlotte Parks of Amarillo; a brother, Donald Wilson Thompson of Buchanan, Ga.; six grandchildren, Nicole, Shady, Aaron, Asher, Anna and Ariel, all of Amarillo; eight great-grandchildren, Brianna, Bryson, Kelsey, Brittany, Bayley, Briley, Bethany and Holden; and a great-great-grandson, Kaleb.
