Paul was born on July 7, 1947 in Electra, TX. He worked for Cablevision of Amarillo, TCA Cable and as an independent cable installer. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, never missing a game often traveling to Cowboys Stadium. Paul played USSSA softball for many years making friendships that would last the rest of his life. One son, Tom, was born to Paul and his first wife, Debbie Carson in 1966. Paul married Linda K. Helton Poynor in 1985 creating an inseparable couple. The two, along with their blended family and grandchildren, thoroughly enjoyed trips to Villa Nueva State Park in New Mexico where the family camped and inner-tubed down the Pecos River, trips to Las Vegas, Mexico, Missouri, and Kansas. Their favorite get-a-way was Branson, Missouri where they enjoyed shows and shopping. He will be greatly missed.
Paul is preceded in death by his beloved Linda, his mother, Gene Rodgers, father Luther Rodgers, sisters, Theresa Todd, and Janice Brownlow.
He is survived by son, Tom Rodgers- granddaughter Cassidy Rodgers, and grandson Aaron Rodgers; Stepdaughter - Roya Hand, grandsons Brad Hand and Brian Hand; Stepson - Curtis Poynor & wife Paulette Poynor - grandsons Josh Poynor, Scotty Poynor, Taylor Poynor, Mason Cain and Savannah Cain; Stepdaughter – Rhonda Hatch& husband Jason, granddaughters Bailey Reel and BreeAnn Reel; and 16 great grandchildren; a sister, Tammy Borland, a brother in law, Jerry Todd 1 nephew and six nieces.
