A proud Borger native, Linda graduated from Borger High School in 1970 and furthered her education at Frank Phillips College. On July 7, 1979, she married David Read, the love of her life. Throughout her career, Linda lived in various cities including Dallas, Denver, and Washington, D.C., but her heart remained in the Texas Panhandle, where she eventually settled in Amarillo. She held numerous jobs in the area and was known for her dedication to her family and community. Linda was an enthusiastic reader and enjoyed music and bowling in her leisure time. She was deeply involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, often participating in their activities and supporting them in every endeavor. She cherished family vacations to Branson, savoring the shows and beautiful scenery.
She is survived by her loving husband, David Read; their sons, David S. Read and Jeremy Read; their daughter, Cheryl Read; one brother, Donald Brown and his wife Teresa; along with six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Elizabeth Brown, who passed away on April 11, 1991; her father, Herman Frank Brown, who passed on December 27, 2010; and her brother, Thomas Lloyd Brown, who passed away in 1949.
Linda's warmth, love, and vibrant spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
