Linda Jo Guinn was born April 14, 1933 in Electra to Lonnie M. and Helen E. Johnson. She passed from this life on June 11, 2016 at the age of 83. She married Glenn E. Guinn on September 9, 1949 and they had many years raising a family together. Along with being the world’s best Mother and homemaker, she worked for and retired from the Potter County Attorney’s office. Jo loved her Lord and was a member of Second Baptist Church. She will always be remembered by friends and family as a most loving and faithful woman of God. She had a beautiful smile and a laugh so contagious it was impossible to forget. Anyone who stepped on her doorstep was always welcomed into her warm, inviting home for a visit or a meal. She had a special bond with each member of her family and especially loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glenn E. Guinn; brothers, Clem Johnson and Gary Johnson and sister, Virginia “Jinka” Passmore.
She is survived by her son, Johnny Ray Guinn and Becky Campbell; daughter, Linda Sue Lyons and husband Michael F. all of Amarillo; grandchildren, Michael Tosh Lyons and wife Courtney of Grand Cayman Islands, Kiley Lyons Waite and husband James of Midland and Dustin L. Guinn and wife Lori of Frisco; great-grandchildren, Keilee Guinn, Lexi Guinn, Mylee Guinn, Finn Lyons and Clarke Waite; brothers, Bill Johnson and wife Barbara, Jimmy Johnson and wife Nancy; sisters, Judy Link, Kay Johnson and husband Jim, Karon Dial, Sharon Fernandez and husband Renee.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Patel and his staff for the many years of wonderful care they provided to our Mother. We also want to thank Nell, Francis and Theresa of Hospice of the Southwest for the love and care they provided.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any donations be made to Hospice of the Southwest, Amarillo.
