He was born December 24, 1930 in Duncan Oklahoma to William and Jimmie Brady.
Johnny grew up in Duncan Oklahoma where he discovered at an early age his passion as an auto mechanic. He married the love of his life Mary Ellen Wisdom, on November 16, 1948 and together they had three children. Johnny joined the Army in June 1952 and served his country during the Korean War until April 1954. He earned several medals; Korean Service Medal with two bronze service stars, Good Conduct Medal, United Nation Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He moved his family to Amarillo and went to work for Hedgecoke motors as a top auto mechanic for 25 years. Johnny then went to work for the City of Amarillo at the Municipal Garage, where he was the manager in charge of maintaining the police vehicles and keeping them safe for over 15 years. He had a love for life, family, friends, as well as a love for woodworking, fishing, camping, and working on his home.
Johnny is preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife Mary, one grandson; Shane Meriwether, one brother; Jimmy Brady, three sisters; Wanda Wellman, Billie Smart, and Nelda Adams.
He is survived by, one son; David D. Brady of Amarillo, two daughters; Marilyn Meriwether of Amarillo, Carolyn Hefner and husband Buck of Amarillo, three grand-children; Johnny Massucci Jr. of Oklahoma City, Stephanie Smith and husband Anthony of Amarillo, Stacey Hefner and wife Sara of Amarillo, nine great-grand-children; one sister; Barbara Brittain of Beaumont Tx., one special niece; Andra Dragosavac and husband Steve of Amarillo, one special nephew; Richard Smart and wife Phyllis of Amarillo, and many other loving nieces and nephews.
Johnny will be truly missed by both his loving family and friends.
