Johnnie McKinney, 87 of Amarillo passed away November 7, 2016. Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2016 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Jerry Davey officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. Johnnie was born February 14, 1929 in Lockney to John Milton and Eula Elizabeth Holmes. She worked for American Quarter Horse Association for almost 40 years. She enjoyed having fun playing cards and dominoes but her favorite thing of all was her Dr. Pepper. Johnnie was a mother dedicated to taking care of her children and still had plenty of time to help others in need. She is preceded in death by her husband, William E. “Buck” McKinney; daughter, Cheryl McKinney and her son, Ronald Earl McKinney. She is survived by her sisters, Betty Snow and Callie Jackson; grandsons, Kyle and Chris McKinney; and also a host of nieces and nephews.
