John Marion “J.M.” Bradley, 70 of Amarillo, passed away February 27, 2012 in Dumas. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 1, 2012 at Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Tad Mann officiating. Entombment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 I-40 East. J.M. was born April 17, 1941 in Tulia to Walter and Verna Bradley. He graduated from Tulia High School and then went on to South Plains College, eventually transferring to Eastern New Mexico University on a full rodeo scholarship. J.M. graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. He taught school in Lubbock and then moved his new family to Sunray where he drove the school bus as well as taught. While in college, J.M. also served in the United States Army, National Guard for 5 years. Once settling in Dumas, he was a very successful insurance agent for Farm Bureau. J.M. was a well known saddle bronc rider and cowboy’d all across the country. He was also a very talented artist, making bronze statues. J.M. was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be truly missed by all who knew him and loved him. J.M. was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Verna Bradley. J.M. is survived by his two daughters, Kim Messick and husband Donnie of Channing and LeAnne Bradley of Dumas; his sister, Pat Collins of Spicewood; grandchildren, Wrangler Messick, Chelsey Messick and Jessie Messick, all of Channing; also by his great-grandson, Wacey Owens of Channing.
