Joella Taylor, age 83, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2024. Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, 2024 from 5-7 pm at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors 5400 Bell St. Funeral service will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024 at 2 pm at Griggs Schooler Gordon Funeral Directors. Burial to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Joella was born on October 21, 1940 in Liberal, Kansas to John and Georgie Rose. She attended Abilene Christian College and received her bachelor's in Education. She married the love of her life Stanley Taylor on November 24, 1962 in Liberal Kansas at the Church of Christ.
Joella was a loving and kind woman, her family was the most important to her. She loved attending any and all sporting events whether it was for her sons or her grandchildren. She played the flute and the piano she loved having sing a longs at her house. In her free time she loved gardening, raising chicken and goats and traveling all over the country but most of all to our ranches. She loved talking about Jesus and spreading the good word. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family has asked friends and family to join them on Thursday at 7 pm and Friday at 5 pm at 7208 Alpine Ln Amarillo, Texas 79109 to share memories and stories of Joella.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband Stanley who passed away in 2005.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Scott and wife Gina and Stuart Taylor and wife Heidi; a brother Stan Rose and sister Lynn Smith. Grandchildren Darby, Zane, Channing, Hunter, Jack and Lauren. One great grandchild Lillian along with many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
