Jimmie was born Feb. 5, 1939, in Clovis, N.M., to James L. “Red” and Nina Spinks. She was a loving mother and outstanding and devoted Christian with “eyes in the back of her head.”
Jimmie and her husband taught Sunday school classes for 5-year-olds and shared their ministry with the neighborhood in the Good News Club. Her homebound ministry of delivering meals to residents made her life a joy being able to share the love of God with all she visited.
Survivors include her husband, Ferrell G. Hill; four children, Troy Hill of Clovis, Shirley Reeves and husband James of Amarillo, Bradley Hill and wife Julia of southwest Florida and Timothy Hill of Lubbock; five grandchildren, Lacy Reeves, Brandon Hill, Michael Reeves, Chris Reeves and
Stephanie Reeves; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Lewis Spinks and wife Dominga of South Dakota; and a sister, Marina Sue Hayes of Fort Worth.
The family will receive guests from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials be to Southcrest Baptist Church, 3801 S. Loop 289, Lubbock, TX 79423; or a favorite charity
