Jill Ann Terry, 58 of Amarillo passed away September 7, 2012. 3:00 P. M. Saturday, September 15, 2012 Memorial Service, Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel, 5400 Bell, Amarillo, Texas. Arrangements by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell. Jill Ann Terry, 58, at her home in Amarillo. She was raised as a “military brat” along with her sister. Her parents were stationed not only at bases in the United States, but also in Germany. Her cousins who now reside in Amarillo, Hereford, Lubbock, Paducah, and Florida were always happy when they could get together for holidays at Ma Maw and Pa Paws or at Aunt Sis and Uncle Happy’s. Being 7 years younger than her sister, her playmates were either younger or older. She was flexible because of the constant relocating and making new friends. She became interested in nursing and finished LVN training in 1972 at Amarillo College. She was employed at Palo Duro Care Center and Heritage Nursing Home. She is loved and will be missed by all who knew her, and especially her grandchildren who brought her much joy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Col. Frank and Billie Durkee in 2006 and 2007. Survivors include Sister, Connie and Richard Phillips, her son and wife, Shane and Cindy Terry, her daughter and husband Brandi and Bobby Stopka. An aunt and uncle Bill and Kathryn Acton. Grandchildren, Kyle, Eason, Taylor Terry, Jacob Terry, Skylar Stopka and Gavin Stopka.Nephews, Kelly and Chris Fagan, Close friends, Fred and Stephanie Green, and the many patients and their family that will remember Jill’s loving care.
