Jerry was born on June 4th 1948 in Longview, Texas. He grew up in Lubbock and Amarillo. He graduated from Amarillo High School in 1966 and later from the University of Houston in 1971 with a bachelor of art in interior design. He worked at Elliott Russell/Office Wise for over thirty years in furniture sales and design. Jerry was a former president of the Texas chapter of American Society Of Interior Designers. He was a member of AMBUCS of the southwest and volunteered at United Way for many years. He was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship. He loved sports cars and was a member of the Sports Car Club of America. He enjoyed auto crossing with his son Chris. He enjoyed cooking and spending time with both his sons. Jerry touched many people’s lives, whether it was through work or volunteering. He had many hobbies including racing, photography, home improvement and cooking. Jerry had many friends that were like family to him. He married Marsha Ann Farley in 1975 and was married for 28 years with two sons, Chris and Eric. In 2004 he married Candace Lee Delozier and they enjoyed 11 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth Doyle Goebel and May Nell Goebel/Stone.
Survivors include his two sons, Eric and Chris, younger brothers Doyle and his wife Charlotte their two daughters, Lauren and Adrian; Ted and his wife Fonda and their daughter Joli.
