Jane was born to John Kowaleski and Katie Woznicky on August 10, 1927 in Bridgeport, Connecticut. She was the youngest of three siblings; brother Stanley and sister Bertha. She was just a teenager when she met a Navy boy stationed at a base in Connecticut, Donnie Gene Grace, and from there a love story began. Upon Donnie's discharge from the Navy, they made their way to Donnie's hometown in Texas where they married on July 17, 1946. They raised their son, Richard "Ricky" Donnie Grace on the oil fields of Pampa. She was a proud, dedicated mother and a devoted and loyal wife. Eventually in Donnie and Janes' retirement years, they planted their roots in Rogers, Arkansas, where they lived out their marriage of 59 years enjoying time with family and friends.
Jane was a devout Catholic; faithful in her praying of the Rosary and lighting of candles to lift up all those she loved and felt in need and in her volunteer work at the local Catholic Church. She had a passion for and enjoyed her time baking. She was famous amongst many for her cookies and candies. She loved to share with anyone, especially her family and a host of friends she played cards and dominoes with. She was quite the card shark, win by any means. Canasta, Bridge, Pinochle, you name it and she played it. She was most affectionately known by her family for her spunky attitude, witty sayings and so many goodies baked with love. She will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, John and Katie; her sister, Bertha; Her husband, Donnie. Jane is survived by her son, Ricky Grace, of Amarillo; Three grandchildren and spouses, Jeremy and Keri Grace, of Lewisville, Texas, Aaron and Annmarie Grace, of Carrollton, Texas, Sara and Maggie Grace, of Amarillo, Texas; Four great grandchildren and other extended family members.
The family suggests in lieu of any flowers or memorials, a donation to St. Jude's Hospital be considered, as that was Jane's favorite charity.
