James was raised and graduated from Wynoka High School. James was a hardworking man who always put other before himself. He was an honest man and his family came first. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, and enjoyed watching football. James will be dearly missed.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents his wife Patricia Ann Mathis and a sister Maudena Mathis Perryman.
Jack is survived by his son Mark and wife Terri of Amarillo; his grandchildren Cody Mark and Joshua Sean Mathis both of Amarillo. His sisters; Jackie Hinderiter and Glenda Jane Cox both of Clovis; longtime companion Helen Parsells along with many nephews and nieces.
