The family will receive guests on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 from 6-8 pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40 in Amarillo. A celebration of James’ life will be held on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at 2pm in the Chapel of Memories with Dee Slocum presiding.
James was born on February 17, 1970 in Amarillo, Texas to Hayes and Judith Lovelady. He attended Caprock High School in Amarillo and worked in the flooring business for more than three decades. He was a passionate motorcycle rider who loved his Harley Davidson and his Dallas Cowboys. He loved spending time with his kids and was a passionate family man. He loved working on cars, and was an outdoor man. James taught his kids everything he knew. He always provided everything they could ever want. He loved his dog Lulu. He cherished his grandchildren. He was the best father anyone could ask for. He loved and cherished his parents and sisters more than anything. He was a phenomenal father in law. He had an infectious laugh that was the only laugh that could make his kids smile. James would give the shirt off his back to a complete stranger.
James was preceded in death by his grandparents Elmer and Nellie Lovelady, his Aunt Susan Walker, his Aunt and Uncle Linda and Elmer Jr Lovelady, and his Aunt Bonnie Paulk. Those left to cherish his memory are his parents Hayes and Judith, sisters Connie Jones and Carrie Lovelady; sons Ryan and Preston Lovelady, daughters Kristin, Tiffany, and Alexis Lovelady; three grandchildren, Dayshana Lovelady, RyeLynn Rinehart, and Karson Lovelady.
