J. D. Rowell

J. D. Rowell, 86, of Albuquerque, NM, formerly of Amarillo, passed away March 3, 2012. Funeral services will be Friday, March 9, 2012, at 2:00 pm in Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Pioneer Chapel, 5400 Bell Street, with Rev. Jack Jeter officiating. Arrangements by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell, Amarillo, TX. Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery.

J. D. was born December 22, 1925 to Homer and Savannah Rowell in Munday, Texas. He attended high school in Knox City, Texas. He was a WWII veteran and was in the Navy in the South Pacific. He married Bette Jean Rowell in 1946. He started Rowell Sales company, Inc. in June, 1963 and retired December 31, 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Savannah Rowell and his wife Bette Jean Rowell, April 2, 2007.

J.D. is survived by his son, Jim Rowell and wife Peaches of Albuquerque, NM, a grandson Chase Rowell of Tempe, Arizona and a sister, Francis Jeter of Navasota, Texas.
