Imagene Burrell Bradford 92, of Amarillo passed away March 31, 2018. Imagene was born June 11, 1925 in Twitty, Texas to George W. Burrell and Bonnie Wright Burrell. She was the fourth of five children and the only girl. Growing up on the family farm in Shamrock, Texas, she learned early how to work hard and stand up for herself with four brothers. After graduating from Kelton, High School in 1943, she attended Scott & White Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Temple, Texas; graduating with her nursing degree in 1946. While attending Scott & White she met Charles Ennis Bradford on a blind date and she was immediately taken with him. They married October 19, 1946 and added two children to their family. Charles William and Debra Kay. She worked as a nurse off and on while raising their children and retired from Northwest Texas Hospital after 20 years of service. She went on to volunteer at numerous places around the Texas Panhandle and was loved by all who knew and loved her. She was a member of Paramount Baptist Church -Joy Sunday School Class, Glory Choir, Northwest Texas Hospital Auxiliary, Odyssey Hospice, Scott & White School of Nursing Alumni, and a 60 year member of Eastern Star, and in October of 2017she was honored as of the 25 Great Panhandle Nurses by the Texas Nursing Association. In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to The American Cancer Society, The Disabled American Veterans Charitable Service Trust, or The Alzheimer's Foundation.
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings and her beloved husband.
Surviving her is a loving family consisting of son Chuck Bradford of Kettering, Ohio; daughter Debbie Lovett (Brock Lovett) of Amarillo, Texas. Eight grandchildren Sarah Heath (Chris) of Amarillo; Katie Folsom (Scott) of Wasilla, Alaska; Rebekah Petersen (Jim) of Duncan, Oklahoma; Bradford Lovett of Washington, D.C.; Aaron Bradford (Amanda) of Kettering, Ohio; Nathan Bradford ( Rosabel) of Fort Polk, Louisiana; Benjamin Lovett (Alexis) of Logan, Utah; Hannah Lovett of Logan, Utah and 13 great grandchildren.
