Hermelinda Munoz 86 of Amarillo passed from this world October 24, 2023.
Hermelinda lived a hard, but simple life. Born on October 22, 1937, she dedicated her years to working hard and loving her family. Her life was a testament to resilience, strength, and unwavering dedication to her loved ones.
During certain times in her life, Hermelinda found herself as a single mother. Yet, with determination burning in her soul, she did whatever it took to provide for her children. From toiling in the fields as a migrant worker to making and selling homemade tamales, she ensured that her family had enough to eat and a roof over their heads. Her tireless efforts reflected her unwavering commitment to her children's well-being.
Hermelinda was not only a hardworking mother, but also a devoted wife and grandmother. Her family meant the world to her, and she loved them with all her heart. A prayer warrior, she sought solace and strength through her faith, reading her bible daily and instilling the fear of God in her children. Her unwavering devotion to God has left a lasting impact on all those who knew her.
As a child, Hermelinda cherished her time fishing with her father. Those precious moments spent by his side created memories that stayed with her throughout her life. Additionally, she shared a deep bond with her sisters, who are now reunited with her in the heavenly abode. Together, they braved both good and bad times, supporting each other every step of the way.
One of Hermelinda's greatest passions was cooking authentic Mexican cuisine. Her love for cooking extended to most of her children, who inherited her culinary skills, and they, in turn, passed it on to their children. Her delicious dishes brought families together, creating unforgettable moments filled with joy, laughter, and the warmth of her love.
Hermelinda leaves behind her beloved husband, Hipolito Munoz, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She is also survived by her ten children, twenty-eight grandchildren, thirty-six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Their lives have been forever shaped by her love, sacrifices, and unwavering devotion.
As we bid farewell to Hermelinda, let us remember the simplicity and strength of her life. She taught us the value of hard work, the importance of family bonds, and the joy of bringing people together through the art of cooking. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, guiding and inspiring us to live a life of love, determination, and dedication.

Hermelinda is survived by her sons; Jose Tovar, Jesus Tobar, Juan Elijio Martinez, Richard Singleterry Herrera,and Anthony Herrera, daughters; Hilda Irene Garrison and husband Richard, Monica Herrera, Eduvijen Pitchford and husband Arthur Pitchford, Magdalena Ramirez, and Amy Wall, her loving husband; Hipolito Munoz.
She is preceded in death by her father; Santos Singleterry, mother; Magdalena Yanes Singleterry, brothers; Guadalupe Singleterry, Elojio Singleterry, sisters; Maria Singleterry, Lydia Singleterry, Viola Singleterry, sons; James Martinez, and Carlos Munoz.
