Gregory was born August 16, 1950 to Alvin Anderle and Matilda Lindeman. He went to school and graduated from Nazareth High School in 1968. He joined the US Marines Reserves in 1970 and retired after 25 years of service. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from West Texas University in 1976. Gregory met and married Margaret Elizabeth Thurmond-Anderle, M.D. on August 3, 1985 in Houston. Together they raised their twin sons Ronald and Leo. He was activated for duty during Desert Storm in the local Marine Reserve Unit. As the children grew up Gregory became active in St. Joseph’s Daycare School and Parish serving on multiple boards. He started his association with the Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Kwahadis during this time period. He became the Troop master and Cub master for Troup 88 and Pack 88. He loved mentoring young boys to become responsible adults. After his sons went to college he was a great fan of local high school football and basketball. He won a grand prize for his wooden enlayed coffee table at the Tri-State Fair. Gregory loved music ranging from the 1950’s to 1990’s including Rock & Roll, Classical, and Country Western. After retiring, he volunteered at his spouse’s office.
He leaves behind his wife, M.E. Thurmond-Anderle, two sons; Ronald T. of Amarillo and Leo G., US Navy, of Annapolis, brother; Stephen Anderle of Nazareth and two sisters; Philomena Garza of Ft. Worth and Monica Musick, husband Chuck, of Amarillo, one grandchild, Emily Arreola.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to: Boy Scouts of America, Troop 88 and Pack 88, Kwahadis Dancers or a favorite charity.
