Gary Neil Adams

Gary Neil Adams, 74 of Amarillo passed away May 29, 2015. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors Pioneer Chapel with Pastor Jerry Davey officiating. Gary was born April 5, 1941 in Memphis, Texas to Raleigh and Jessie Adams. He graduated from Estelline High School and received his Master’s Degree in Mathematics from Texas Tech University. Gary was a math professor at Amarillo College for 41 years from 1966 to 2003. He really enjoyed a relaxing game of chess. Gary will be forever missed by all who knew him and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents. Gary is survived by his wife, Paula Adams of Amarillo; step-children, Greg Procopio and wife Mary Ann from Sugarland and Gail Lloyd and husband Mark of Forney; sisters, Barbara Cosper and husband Sherman of Clarendon and Paula Jacobs and husband Sammy of Amarillo; brothers, Jimmie Don Adams and wife Sue of Lubbock and Steve Adams of Shallowater. The family suggest memorials be made in lieu of flowers to Amarillo College Math Scholarship Program, 1314 S. Polk Amarillo, Texas 79101 or to the Amarillo SPCA, 11901 S. Coulter Amarillo, Texas 79119.
