Frank R Galitski

Rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Tuesday Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in in Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish with Monsignor Joe Bixenman officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Home, 5400 S. Bell St.

Frank was born Dec. 3, 1935, in Mt. Carmel, Pa., to Frank and Jean Galitski. He was a graduate of Mt. Carmel High School. Frank served honorably in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He married Annette Blazina Galitski on Oct. 3, 1958, in Atlas, Pa. He was a devoted husband of 55 years; a father and grandfather who always made sure his family came first.

He enjoyed a long professional career in rotary wing aviation. His career began at Sikorsky Helicopter and he finished his career at Bell Helicopter.

His profession allowed him and his wife, Annette, to travel the world. They traveled the world booking passage on the Queen Mary II, while making several trans-Atlantic trips to Europe. Just a few of the European counties they visited included Great Britain, Germany, Spain, France, Portugal, Austria and Italy. They saw such historical sites as Stonehenge, the Vatican, the Roman Colosseum and the Acropolis. Other cruises and trips took them to such faraway places as China, Australia, New Zealand and a 30-day boat trip up the Amazon River. They visited Easter Island and the Galapagos Islands, and had the opportunity to sail thru the Panama Canal. They also lived abroad for several years in cities such as Tehran, Iran and Chinhae, South Korea.

Frank was an avid reader and a great fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburg Steelers. His greatest love, however, was being Pap-pap to his grandchildren and great-grandchild. He loved the Lord and was a member of Saint Thomas the Apostle Parish and Serra Club.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annette Blazina Galitski; his parents, Frank and Jean Galitski; and a brother, James Galitski.

Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law; Patricia and Henry Fadrowski of Mt. Carmel; his son, Frank V. Galitski of Austin; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Scott Roberts of Canyon; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Nicolle Galitski of Berthoud, Colo.; eight grandchildren who he loved very much, Daniel, Elizabeth, Gina, Steven, Anna, Jarrott, Chelsea and Dakkota; a great-grandchild, Tayton; and a devoted family friend, Maxine Hilder, whose love and support was greatly appreciated by Frank and his entire family.

His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
