Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday March 23, 2013 in Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Florene was born April 23, 1918, in Colbert, Okla. She married Utah C. Darnell in 1939. They were together until he died in 1981 in Amarillo. They had one child, Jimmy C. Darnell of Odessa. Florene was one of 14 siblings. She was a strong believer in her savior and Lord and lived the example for all to follow.
Her strong faith and her prayers before her passing will no doubt have a lasting support for all who knew her. When she prayed, God listened. The proof is in the pudding, as they say. She died on the first day of spring and is a fitting beautiful flower in the Masters bouquet. Her love for her family is unsurpassed, and her devotion to them and her friends will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She was among the greatest mothers created by the Father of creation.
She leaves us with the hope given by our Lord that one day we will all meet again without the tears and pain associated with this life. She leaves us with the thought to consider that the only thing we take with us at death is our obedience to the Lord. May we all live as she did.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Utah C. Darnell
Survivors include a son, Jimmy C. Darnell and wife Anna of Odessa; a granddaughter, Robbie E. Hager of Kyle; a great-granddaughter, Chasni E. Hager of Kyle; two brothers B.F. Williams and Leo Williams; and a sister Evangeline Adams.
