F. Marcille McMicken, age 97, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2024. She was born on July 30, 1926, to Harris J. Harlan and Velma Hazel Harlan in La Grange, TX. She graduated High School from Robert E. Lee in Baytown, Texas. She met Jack L. McMicken in high school and they married when he returned from the war on November 17, 1945. They were blessed with 3 children, Jacille, Pam and Rand. Marcille was a stay at home Mom and cared for her family.
She began bowling in 1960 and bowled for many years. She met many friends, bowled in leagues and tournaments. She was League secretary and the Amarillo Women's Bowling Association Secretary for years. She coached Junior bowlers for many years. She also still holds the record for most All Spare games at 48.
She was also a member of Epsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. She helped with many community services.
She enjoyed spending time with her family on vacations in Lake City, Colorado and Red River, New Mexico. She spent time jeeping, horseback riding, fishing, camping, cooking, snowmobiling and even white water rafting at 70. She was adventurous.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack L. McMicken, her father Harris J. Harlan, her mother Velma Hazel Harlan, her brother Harris J. Harlan, Jr and her sister Harriet Glenn.
She is survived by her children, Jacille Smith (Rick), Pam Moeller (Keith), and Rand McMicken (Karen). Her six grandchildren, Heath Smith (Christi), Harlan Smith (Monek), Melissa Hoge (Justin), Kela Ortiz (Juan), Andrew McMicken (Cat), and Cameron McMicken (Brianna). Her eleven great grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Kirby Weeks (Jordan), Slade Smith, Piper Smith, Tatum Hoge, Dawson Hoge, Kyler Ortiz, Keaven Ortiz, Kaysen Ortiz, Harrison McMicken and Ivy McMicken.
Visitation will be February 14, 2024 from 5-7 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas and the graveside service will be Thursday, February 15, at 10:00 am at Memorial Park Cemetery.
