Joyce Smith formerly of Weed, NM died in Amarillo on Wednesday July 29 2015 at Heritage Convalescent Center. Joyce was born to C. B Velma Early. She grew up in Tahoka area and graduated from Tahoka High School. She attended Wayland Baptist College and West Texas State College, where she met Ronnie L Smith and they were married on April 4, 1958. They moved Fort Worth in June where Ronnie attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Following graduation they lived in Missouri, Tennessee, Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Weed, NM before returning to Amarillo recently.
Joyce was a professional secretary of superior skill, a devoted wife and mother who adored her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Frist Baptist Church of Amarillo.
She was preceded in death by her parents C. B and Vilma Earley and brother Don Earley.
She is survived by her husband Ronnie, a brother Kenneth of Amarillo, two sons Terry of Amarillo and Ron of Cloudcroft, NM, loving cousin Rita Curtis, two grandchildren Michael and Tabitha and eight great-grandchildren.
