Esther was not a well-educated woman, she was needed to pick cotton during the depression. She never received honors, medals or accolades. Her greatest accomplishments were from her heart and wisdom beyond education. She always met, and made, life-long friends with her kindness, compassion, humor and love. She was ready to listen, but never judged. She didn't tell you what to do, but she would talk to God and answers came. Her greatest accomplishment was being a life member of Eastern Star. She will be missed, but always remembered with love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Esther DeFries; 2 husbands; Orville Dawson and Luther Smith; 1 daughter, Shirley A. Dawson-Stumbaugh-Hubbard; and 4 sisters; Lela, Rita, Katy and Lerabell.
Those left behind to cherish her memory are 1 daughter, Donna L. Ziegler, of the home. 7 Grandchildren, 10 Great-grandchildren, and many friends and loved ones.
