Edward Joe "Fast Eddie" Scroggins passed away peacefully on Monday, August 7th, 2023 at home after a brief illness. He was born on December 31, 1938 in Corsicana, Texas to Urban and Willie Scroggins. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1957. He joined the Army in 1961. After serving one year, 11 months and 14 days he was honorably discharged. He married Carolyn Thompson in December 1961. They enjoyed 61 years of marriage and they were proud parents to two sons, 4 grandsons, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter. In addition to being a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was proudly involved with his two sons and their PBA careers. He also loved horse racing, golf and the Dallas Cowboys. He had a wonderful sense of humor and he loved talking with people. He will be missed by many people.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, his two sons Mark Scroggins and wife Rebecca and their two sons John Kay and wife Beth and Mark Kay; Mike Scroggins and wife Melanie and their two sons Ross and William, one granddaughter Maggie and one great granddaughter, Sara Kay. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Eddie's family and friends are invited to a viewing on Monday, August 14th from 5 to 7 PM in the Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 6969 East 1-40, Amarillo, Texas. Services will be on Tuesday, August 15th at 10:00 AM.
