Donald was born in Philadelphia, PA on August 3, 1950 to Donald Earl and Mary (Kopfinger) Thomas. He served in the US Navy service on nuclear subs from 1968-1972.
Donald married Heather Griggs on May 10, 1975. He began his career as draftsman at United Engineering in 1973 and went on to work as a project manager at several nuclear facilities around the country, retiring in 2016.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife Heather Griggs Thomas, daughter Megan Kelley and husband Sam grandchildren, Thomas Kelley, Zachary Kelley, Benjamin Kelley, and Molly Kelley; and sisters Anne Marshall, Mary Ferguson, Peg Thomas - sisters
Donald was preceded in death by his Father Donald Earl Thomas in 1987, Mother Mary Kopfinger Thomas in 1995, and his Step Mother Ruth Ivey Thomas in 2012.
