F. David Dennis passed away on Friday, August 11, 2023. Funeral services are scheduled for 2pm, Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Comanche Trail Church of Christ in Amarillo, Texas. The family will receive visitors for a viewing from 5-7pm, Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Amarillo, Texas.
David was born on August 29, 1939 to Elton Lamar Dennis and Clista Virginia Chandler in Falls Mills, Virginia. He graduated from the old Amarillo High School in 1958. After high school he married Molly Ann Kennedy and they shared 27 years of marriage, until she passed away. He later married Rita Lanell Stiles in 1993 and they shared 26 years of marriage until she passed away as well. David was in the National Guard and served as a Commission Officer and was a 2nd Lieutenant with the communication office and had received accommodation from the President of the United States of America. He attended the Sunset School of Preaching and later lived in New Zealand for missionary work to minister and preach the word of God. David participated in missionary work all over the country as well. He installed mobile homes for over 30 years and came out of retirement to work as a correctional officer. David was an absolute Jack of all trades and he could do just about anything. He could pilot, sew, knit sweaters, fix up cars, paint, and he was never afraid to try to do anything new. He was also a known to be a whiz with technology. Above all of his many talents and accomplishments, he was a very good Dad and loved his family greatly. He was the most loving and compassionate man and he would help anyone. David was very active in church and would help teach World Bible Study through Comanche Trail Church of Christ, as this was his biggest passion, along with loving his three Chihuahua's, Little Britches, Tiny, and Minnie.
David was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Molly and his second wife, Rita.
Survivors left to cherish his memory are his son, Timothy Dennis and wife, April, of Canyon, Texas; his daughters, Cheri Eudey and husband, Denzil, of Amarillo, and Melanie Loewenstern and husband Keith, of Amarillo; his brother, Dale Dennis and wife, Elnora, of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Justin Eudey, Molly Eudey, Clista Loewenstern, Sarah Loewenstern, Nick Loewenstern, Ashley Dennis, and Krystal Ann Dennis; 9 great-grandchildren; 2 nephews and 1 niece. David will be greatly missed.
