Daniel was born Sept. 5, 1958, in Hale Center to Oscar and Lilly Hooks
Salazar. He grew up and attended school in Hale Center. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan, loved spending time with his family, cooking out, going to his favorite lake, Turner Falls State Park and fishing.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Oscar Salazar.
Survivors include his wife, Santa Salazar; three sons, Pablo of Oklahoma and Jay and Jake, both of Amarillo; a daughter, Crystal of
Oklahoma; his parents, Oscar Salazar and Lilly Salazar; a sister, Delia of Dallas; and a grandson.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 20, 2012, at the funeral home.
