Curtis Gilbert Ellis, 69, died (May 3, 2018) in Amarillo, TX.
Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 9, 2018
Memorial Park Cemetery in Amarillo.
Curtis was born July 17, 1948 in Medesto, California.
He attended Tascosa High School and after graduation joined the Marine
Corp and served in Vietnam. He earned 6 Medals of Honor including
the Expert Marksman Rifle medal. Upon returning to Amarillo he went to
work for Bell Helicopter. When he left Bell he attended Jacksonville State and
received an Associate degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He raised his family with much love and enthusiasm. His children were his best
friends. Once he had raised his family he returned to Amarillo.
He is preceded in death by his brother David Alan Ellis, and his mother Jimmie Ellis.
He is survived by his son Stephen Ellis of Amarillo, and daughter Kristi Ogle and
husband Dave of Commerce, GA. His dad Bob Ellis and wife Treva of Amarillo.
Close family friend Robbie Hyatt. One grandchild Madison Grace Ogle of Commerce, GA.
