Memorial Service will be 10:30 am Tuesday February 7, 2012 at St. Kenneth Catholic Church in Plymouth, Michigan
Mrs. Schnaufer was born March 17, 1966, in Detroit to Larry and Lydia Podnar. She graduated from St. Agatha High School in Redford Township, Mich. She received her Bachelor of Art degree from Central Michigan and a masters degree from Michigan State.
After receiving her masters, Mrs. Schnaufer moved to Pennsylvania. She worked for Owens Corning and transferred to Amarillo in 1992. She then worked for Cox Communications and Corporate Systems before going to work for Bell Helicopter in 2005, where she had still been employed.
Mrs. Schnaufer was an active supporter in civic and charitable organizations including Ambucs and The Bridge Advocacy Center. She enjoyed spending time on the lake with friends and family and being physically active, including water skiing, wakeboarding, snow skiing and participating in sprint triathlons.
The family would like to give thanks to the nurses and staff at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice.
Mrs. Schnaufer touched the lives of many and is going to be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Brad Schnaufer of Amarillo; her parents, Larry and Lydia Podnar of Plymouth, Mich.; a brother, Andy Podnar and wife Peggy of Redford Township, Mich.; a sister, Julie Daniels and husband Dan of Mount Clemens, Mich.; six nieces; a nephew; loving extended family and friends; and her three beloved pets.
The family suggests memorials be to The Bridge Advocacy Center, 804 Quail Creek, Amarillo, TX 79124; and Southwest Ambucs, P.O. Box 2827 Amarillo, Texas 79105.
