Garcia for 30 years and made their home in Lubbock and later moved to Amarillo, where they raised three children. After being widowed for four years, she married Gene Scott and remained together for 31 years until his passing in 2015.
Connie volunteered at Bethesda Outreach Center for 15 years. There she served as an interpreter for Hispanic families. She also counseled with women and girls at the Crisis Pregnancy in determining their decisions. Additionally, she assisted the needy in applying for help at Cornerstone Outreach Center and also helped serve meals after funerals through Trinity Fellowship Auxiliary. She had a passion for reading and for working in her small rose garden, but most of all, she had a passion for her family and loved to spend time with them and praying for them.
