Bobby R. Smiley was born October 9, 1947, in Matador, Texas, to David and Mary Smiley. He took great pride in his work: serving 4 years in the Navy, 30 years in the Amarillo Police Department, and the last several years at the gun range. He was devoted to his wife for 52 years and his family—both biological and those who entered his home/life. His wit and sense of humor will be missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, David Smiley, and his nephew, Jason Banda.
He is survived by: his wife, Wanda Smiley; his children, Michelle Smiley-Connelly, Becky Kite, and David Smiley; his grandchildren, Kinzy Kite, Olivia Perez, Deaven Connelly, Kallie Connelly, Luke Smiley, Leah Smiley, and Liam Smiley; his mother, Mary Smiley; his sister, Davy Smiley; his nephew, Joshua Banda; his nieces, Christie Stewart and Tanya Brown; his great-niece, Jasmine Brown and her daughter, Jazara; and his great-nephew, Bailey Brown and his son Baylor, as well as, countless other family members and friends.
Bob was a good man; he was loved by many; may he rest in peace.
