Jean will lie in state on Tuesday, June 04, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm in the Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40. A celebration of Jean’s Life will be held on Wednesday, June 05, 2019 at 10am in the funeral home’s Chapel of Memories with Ken Haney presiding. Jean will be inurned in a private ceremony at a later date.
Jean was born on February 02, 1929 in Caddo, Oklahoma to George and Gertie Redding. She relocated to Amarillo, Texas around 1950. For many years, she served as a Retail Sales Associate, and an auditor for a tourism firm. Probably her most favorite pass time was sewing.
Jean was preceded in death by her parents, brother George Redding, and son Michael Butcher. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Danny Butcher and wife Laverne of Amarillo, George Butcher and wife Sirik of Show Low, Arizona, daughter Darlene Jessup of Plant City, Florida, sister Lee Pierce of Lawton, Oklahoma; 5 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren.
