Billy I. Sims

Billy was born outside Childress, Texas, on August 16, 1931, to Ella Ray (Morton) and Oby Luther (Jack) Sims. In 1926, his family moved to Amarillo, TX. On April 2, 1950, he married his true love, Lila (Dorene) Millican.

Billy was hard-working and very innovative. He loved God and his family. His hobbies included having fun at the lake, camping, hunting, fishing, scuba diving, horseback riding, and helping others.

Billy was preceded in death by his parents, brothers O.L. (Jack) Sims Jr., Richard Sims, Ray Sims, Jay R. Sims, sister JoAnn Abbott, and his wife of 57 years.

Survivors include his sister Ginger of Amarillo, son Bob Sims of Amarillo, daughter Vicky Elliott and husband Stan of Amarillo, Daughter Diana Eaves and husband Steve of Amarillo.

Grandchildren Trisha Sims of Austin, Tx, Venus Crumley and husband Jason of Arlington, Tx, Christopher Elliott of Amarillo, Kristan Macaluso and husband Ben of Berthoud, Co, Bonnie Sharber, Maggie White and husband Corey, Ty Cowley, Jennie Wilson and husband Don, 21 great-grandchildren and many beloved in-laws, out-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
